Definition
Subcategory - A subset of items or groups that are categorized more precisely than what a general category can accommodate.
EZCat requires that every item and group be assigned a major category, however, items and groups can be placed in multiple subcategories. This allows you to have your items appear in multiple places on your web site without needing to enter the items multiple times into the system. This is a very useful tool if you wish your items to be viewed by a variety of different shopping schemes such as “by item type” and “by manufacturer” or even “by price”. The possibilities are endless.
The example below shows all the subcategories found under one major category. Again, the template can be modified to show differing numbers of items per page.
 A. The title of the main category is always prominent.
B. Description area for the category introducing the subcategories is available with full HTML text formatting control.
C. EZCat automatically locates representative photos for each sub category from the groups and items found within it.
D. The title of each subcategory is clearly displayed for easy navigation along with a link (details) to view the subcategory itself. As always, clicking the photo will also navigate to the appropriate area.
