Much of EZCat is
designed such that each dynamically created page can be built using different
template designs. This allows you to display your products in as attractive a
fashion as possible.
Consider the two
templates to the right. The first (top) template depicts EZCat’s standard
design with a main photo, and a description to the right. Keep in mind that
each of these areas can be turned “on” or “off” depending on your needs and the
way you wish to sell your products.
The design in the first
template is acceptable in a majority of cases, however, there has been
situations where the photos that need to be displayed are much larger or,
specifically, wider than a design like this would accommodate. Therefore,
an alternative template can be built (see lower image) where the area reserved
for the main photo is much larger that template 1, and can easily allow for a
large photo without having to constrict the accompanying description. The
description, in this case, simply resides below the image.
There is virtually no
limit to the design capabilities of these templates. You can display the
information in any order you wish in any area of the page.
Templates can be
global. That is, a single custom template can be defined for the entire
EZCat shopping system for your site, or yo can elect to assign a template to a
category, subcategory, group, or an individual item.
Each template is
created using standard HTML with coded “placeholders” for the necessary dynamic
content.
